The Grand Parade in Cork. Lights that have been there for a while now, just starting to blend in with the surroundings. Until of course, they turn on. Jesus I’d love a cheese & onion pie from Lennox’s right about now.
Finally reached the older section of Glasnevin graveyard and just the right time to have borrowed Al’s Hasselblad to run a roll of neopan through.
Shandon, as pictured previously houses a wonderful set of bells. Not so wonderful when you’re next to them as they’re being rung. This is where they live. In a maze of old wooden beams, iron braces and plenty of nuts & bolts.
Howth beach. A grand day out while the sun shines. Tides out so plenty of beach to play on. But don’t walk on those ripples of sand for too long in your bare feet or they’ll start to hurt. Or.. at least that’s my experience. Although I don’t think I ever successfully flew a kite. Deprived childhood don’t ya know.

Abandoned looking camper van on the pier at Howth. Abandoned, if only that it looked like someone was sleeping or had slept inside it. Hmmm
A very old Citroen on the pier in Howth, shot with some very old film. Seemed fitting at the time. This fine example of an ancient auto caught the eye of practically all of us, so there will likely be many (or already has been many) shots of it posted on other blogs.
On Howth beach, shooting a roll of Orwo NP20 that expired 36 years ago. Give or take. January 1973 to be exact. I picked a shot that makes it look as bad as possible, but I am quite pleased with the way it came out. Maybe in a few days I’ll post a cleaner example. Tara street dart station, where the first(?) boards.ie film meet started. A wide and varied selection of cameras (mostly of the cheap & plasticy variety) came out to play and by all accounts, a great day was had. As I processed and scanned these yesterday, I did notice a weak whimper from my camera bag. On further investigation it appeared that my 5D has all but given up hope of ever seeing the light of day again. Poor little bugger.
Just outside Dublin castle during the meetup a couple of weeks ago. Have been very much living an off-line existence the last few days, back from a couple of days in London and another chance to fly with the “we’re as pleasant as we’re going to get, ALRIGHT?” Aer Lingus.
It was odd, I felt drawn back to this. Previously visited in digital, this film version is for those out there that like their photography a little more analog. Now I can’t decide which one I like better!?!
For someone apparently very important in the greater scheme of things. Lots of empty reserved parking spaces at Dublin castle. Well la de da!
What kind of stories would this old building tell? It’s been a while since there was a nice relaxing stroll around the city with a few fellow photographers. Met on O’Connell street, ended up walking (via a food market) to Dublin castle, onto Christ Church and finally into the Bull & Castle for some afternoon pints. To be repeated again very soon!

Mine took a bit longer to get online due to the whole pesky developing, drying, scanning, processing thing. I\’m sure you understand. Also, feels a little strange that as I’m uploading this, I’m looking out the office window at the building in the picture. Fuhreaky!
One of the main attractions (as far as I could see and apart from the gravity bar of course) at the Guinness Storehouse. A big mad waterfall, indoors! Long exposuralicious, I think I managed about 8/10 seconds on this one without the guy behind the torrent of water moving very much. Win!
Much later than everyone else has posted more or less the same shot but give me a break, I only developed the film a couple of days ago and I only got my scanner today! Anyway, enough of the excuses. Taken on the docks in Drogheda, part of the way through a weekend meetup by a few folks. Those folks to be named at a later date. Or, they can leave a comment and save me the bother.. Either way.
Otherwise known as the Guinness Storehouse, but this definitely has a bit of a 1970’s nuthouse feeling to it. Taken during the Pix.ie St. Patricks Day festivities and my first visit to the storehouse. Will go back, hopefully when there are less people around.. If that ever happens!?!
