Cork bound
freezing my toes off on the 10am train to Cork. I wonder if the people in first class got the heating turned on for them…

Head goes out the window, clickity click. Head comes back in the window with scorched eyeballs. Owidy ow. But worth it.
On The Jacobite heading from Fort William to Mallaig. Pre-set the camera, stuck it out the window and this is the result. Can’t say fairer than that.
After climbing into the cab, met this cheery chap ready to dispense technical information and little known gems of wisdom relating to the line and the train. While the other several hundred tourists were taking photos of various bells, whistles, levers and dials I talked him into doing a quick bit of modelling. Cue for today’s photo taken from Julie, who\’s also posted some fantastic chuffing (or should that be chuffing fantastic) shots.
On the way from Dordrecht to Amsterdam to catch a flight home. Second time lucky. Last time we tried this route I got the dreaded \’volcano\’ text from Aer Lingus.
Cross the tracks safely at Hanwell station in west London. On the way back to Heathrow after a rainy day of meetings in the city. Yes, this is a lazy shot and it’s the first of the fauxlaroids I’m going to be posting. For two main reasons; 1, I’m too lazy to load lightroom and 2, I’m too lazy to develop film, scan it and then load lightroom.
Tara street dart station, where the first(?) boards.ie film meet started. A wide and varied selection of cameras (mostly of the cheap & plasticy variety) came out to play and by all accounts, a great day was had. As I processed and scanned these yesterday, I did notice a weak whimper from my camera bag. On further investigation it appeared that my 5D has all but given up hope of ever seeing the light of day again. Poor little bugger.

Get comfortable. Don’t worry, the train will be here soon. Best viewed dark. Very very dark.
Waste plywood strewn on the old tracks at Mogeely train station in east Cork. It’s days like we’ve had recently that make me wish I was self-employed again. Back then, if the sun suddenly came out I could conveniently ‘go missing’ from ‘the office’ and jump on the bike with camera in hand. Those days led to many great trips around west Cork and many a fun time was had. Now, some years later it’s all changed. Now I haveRead More
Two co-op silos next to the abandoned train station at Mogeely, east Cork. This was the start of the long weekend photo fest. The train station, for such a simple location, always seems to provide some sort of photographic opportunities.
