Four Legged Photowalker

March 8, 2010 Canon 5D, Event

We met this cheery little fella up at Bective Abbey on Sunday morning. He trotted down the road to meet us, followed along by our side for a while then went on his merry way up a grassy lane.

Sheep of the Apocalypse

Distant relative of the swans, here stands the most menacing sheep you’ll ever lay eyes on. Not small, just far away. Menacing all the same though

The Gangs all Here

March 1, 2010 Black and White, Event, Film, People

Brogans, Trim. After the chilly photowalk came a nice hot dinner and a few cold pints. Neopan 1600 pushed to 3200. Came out quite well, apart from the crappy scanning.

Take a Load Off

February 28, 2010 Black and White, Event, Film

Another from Newtown Cemetery in Trim and the first of the film. Took alomst as long to remove the dust from a few shots as it did to scan three 36exp rolls. Should really clean the scanner.

The Jealous Couples Garden

February 22, 2010 Canon 5D, Event, Landscape

The cemetery at Newtown in Trim where you can be cured of your wartyness. Simply bring a safety pin and deposit at the grave of Sir Lucas Dillion and his wife. I didn’t bring a pin so I can’t test the theory.

City Hall

Inside Dublin’s City Hall during a photowalk an absolute age ago. Julie having a chat with Darren while everone else was off lying on the ground taking photos of the roof. Or something along those lines.

Perambulate Elsewhere Please

January 5, 2010 Black and White, Canon 5D, Dublin, Event

The snow covered entrance to one of the glasshouses during the January photowalk at the Botanic Gardens. Permission for Perambulation Pending .

Bods at the Bots

January 3, 2010 Canon 5D, Dublin, Event, Macro

The snowy, icy, massively fun photowalk at the Botanic Gardens in Dublin earlier today. It was cold and somewhat slippy but a small price to pay to come away with a collection of photos of ‘everything with snow on it’. Thanks to all who participated, hope to see you all and more on the February walk!

The Big Wheel

December 27, 2009 Canon 50, Canon 5D, Dublin, Event

Not exactly the most Christmassy of shots, but meh… We’re currently enjoying a trip to Cork. Eating too much, watching way too much crap TV and generally relaxing and having fun. The true spirit of the season. Best Christmas in a while.

This is Christmas

December 24, 2009 Canon 50, Canon 5D, Dublin, Event

The day before the night before the big man makes an appearance. Posting will likely be light over the Christmas period as I’ll be too busy eating, drinking and giving the appearance of being merry. Enjoy the festivities!

Johnsons Court

December 13, 2009 Canon 50, Dublin, Event, People

The narrow alley that some men love to hate. Lined on one side with jewellers displaying trays upon trays of elaborate engagement rings and other expensive trinkets in their windows. Lined on the other side by a very high wall. There truly is no escape. For your wallet at least.

Pet Sematary

November 15, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event

Mixed reports circulated on this spot for years. Appears to be closed now, possibly for the better. Better not to delve too deep into the details to save my more sensitive visitors. The old animals home on the quays in Cork.

I’m Here

November 6, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event

Cork is where the heart is… It’s also where we are for the weekend. Still posting photos from the photowalk in Cork some time ago. Don’t expect anything new until Monday night!

Around Blackrock

October 26, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event, Landscape

The opposite side to another shot posted previously. Looking back on Tivoli as we circle around to head back. It’s all gone a bit Cork this weekend. Hope anyone that traveled to get some jazz into them enjoyed it and similarly, I hope anyone that traveled to get away from the jazz enjoyed that. I suspect we’re just walking in the door back from the airport about now, having spent a lovely weekend in Scotland. God bless the person whoRead More

R&H Hall

October 25, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event

Lets call this ‘Part Two’ then shall we?

The R&H

October 24, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event

Kinda ‘Part One’ possibly, I’ve taken so many shots of this building but few ever see the light of day. Mostly because all you can see of it is a big, depressing, grey concrete slab. But then that kinda fits in with the docks…

Bike Parking

October 23, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event, Macro

Chained up to the railings outside the Odlums building on the docks. Possibly a bike, possibly something else entirely. Eh… Maybe a large, rabid turnip? Whatever it was and however rabid it was, it’s long gone now.

Brian’s Bridge

October 22, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event, Landscape, People

A fairly uninteresting shot of the Brian Boru bridge over the river Lee, taken from a corner of Michael Collins bridge. This is not Clontarf bridge, that’s on the other one that looks the same as this one. You’ll find that over near the city hall, where it’s been for a while now. Glad we cleared that up. Even though it’s not exactly the most awe inspiring shot, I still like it for some reason. But then, I am quiteRead More

Odlums

October 20, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event

Time for one form the home town! Easily my favorite building on the docks in Cork. Rarely seen like this, there are normally truck trailers left outside the building or a large puddle of green ooze blocking any chance of getting near it. I’d give a left something to get inside there and take a few shots.

Leeside Vice

October 1, 2009 Canon 5D, Cork, Event, Landscape, Sigma 12-24

Part of the photowalk at the weekend was a feckin brilliant trip out for four volunteers on a 7.5 liter V8 speedboat. To say it went like shit through a goose is, as you\’d expect, an understatement. It’s all a bit \’Miami Vice’. Without the good looking women in bikinis. Or the skyscrapers. Or Don Johnson.
