Thanks to all that turned up for the unexpectedly sunny outing to Dublin Zoo today. So sunny in fact that it appears I came away with a bit of sunburn. Really enjoyed my first time there but unfortunately I appear to have left my sharpness at home that morning. All the more reason to go back and take some more photos I guess!

Happy Place

Julie in her happy place, surrounded by ‘stuff’ to take photos of. Don’t ask me to explain it.

Worlds End Fence

The barbed wire fence at the end of the world. Sheeps Head in West Cork.

Overcooked Hills

Off to that castle again tomorrow so won’t be posting over the weekend. Looking out on a contrast ++ sea from the top of Goats Path in West Cork. Just before winding down the other side of the hill into Kilcrohane and onto the headland.

Gardens of Napoli

Almost, but not quite… Photowalkers doing their thing during the June get together in west Cork. This particular stop was Garinish Island, one stop after Gougane Barra but one before the impromptu ‘it’s too early to go drinking yet’ trip to Sheeps Head. One of the best photowalks yet, if only because this time I know the area I was traipsing around. Half way there now, only 6 photowalks to go!

Home from the Sea

Galway, by the water.

Make Tracks

June 8, 2010 Event, Macro, Panasonic LX-3

A very well loved tractor waiting to be put back into use near the pier at Doolin. Burren photowalk of course!

The Perfumery Gardens

June 6, 2010 Event, Macro, Panasonic LX-3

Took off to the Burren Perfumery on Sunday afternoon for some cake and a quick stroll around their (fairly compact) gardens. If you asked me to find the place again, I may struggle. Nice spot though.

Life Size

June 5, 2010 Canon 5D, Dublin, Event

From a little bit earlier in the year at the Botanic Gardens photowalk. Chubby little fecker.

Clipped Wings

June 4, 2010 Canon 5D

As a lover of all things gadgety, I couldn’t resist visiting the Concorde that sits baking in the New York sun. This Concorde is now a very cramped tourist attraction. I never would have realised how small the cabin is/was inside until you have to walk around inside. Not for those with fears of flying or enclosed spaces.

Darrens Donkey

Neither of these two were going to get much in the way of peace until the perfect angle was found. From the Airfield Farm photowalk.

Riding the Rails

May 30, 2010 Black and White, Film, Holland

On the way from Dordrecht to Amsterdam to catch a flight home. Second time lucky. Last time we tried this route I got the dreaded \’volcano\’ text from Aer Lingus.

Rust Bucket for Dust Bucket

May 29, 2010 Canon 5D

Taking the opportunity to go back over an entire lightroom catalog after moving it all to the new computer, I realise I\’ve still processed very little of New York in 2009. Need to get moving on that, and well, lots more besides.

Honey, I’m Home

May 24, 2010 Canon 5D, Dublin, Event

The Airfield Farm Photowalk. Not all landscapes or flowers. Oh no. Speaking of photowalks, get yourself over to www.photowalk.ie and take a look at the details of the West Cork photowalk in June. Then sign up for it.

Chasing Sunset

An after dinner trip out on the coast road to catch the sunset on the Burren photowalk. Lots more to come over the coming days (and even more when I develop the 2/3 rolls of film). Hope everyone that made the trip enjoyed the day.

Of sunny days and foreign jaunts

A gorgeous day for photographs (of ditches) somewhere between Bleskensgraaf and Streefkerk. There was a windmill there, if that helps you locate it.

The Other Stairs

You’ve already seen the ‘famous’ stairs of Charleville Castle. Here’s the other one. Taken during the visit last year.

Swamp Thing

May 10, 2010 Canon 135 f2, Canon 5D, Wicklow

Hopping around, scaring elves in the boggy land at Glendalough. The deadly swamp thing!

Liberty City

May 5, 2010 Canon 5D, Landscape

Been playing a LOT of Grand Theft Auto 4 recently. A lot.

Crow Street

May 3, 2010 Black and White, Dublin

Walking toward South William Street, passing the top of Crow Street I saw the back of this car. Yes please.
