Streets paved with…

Just outside Dublin castle during the meetup a couple of weeks ago. Have been very much living an off-line existence the last few days, back from a couple of days in London and another chance to fly with the “we’re as pleasant as we’re going to get, ALRIGHT?” Aer Lingus.

The Mean Streets

Possibly only if you’re wearing heels though. Or wearing heels and drunk. Or (bear with me), wearing heels, drunk and a first time cross-dresser. Other than that, you’re pretty safe. Out for a relaxing Sunday stroll. Completely unlike those relaxing Sunday strolls that turn into epic shopping trips. By which I mean standing around while the other half tries on everything in the bloody shop. But thankfully I don’t suffer that. No, seriously.. I wasn’t being sarcastic this time.

Fresh Cobbles

There were a few of what I can only call ‘craftsmen’ working in Edinburgh Castle when we visited. Some of them were renewing the pathways and public areas in the grounds of the castle. In this case, fresh cobbles were being laid. It was a pleasure to watch the skilled workers laying the stone in uniform patterns, filling in the cracks with cement and polishing the finished areas.
