Long Way Down

Long Way Down
Just about as close as I\’m willing to get to the edge to photograph the sheer cliff face on Inishmore island. Some people were far braver, dangling various body parts over the edge. I\’d rather not leave it to chance (and a strong gust of wind) to decide if I live or die. Thanks all the same. I\’ll save myself from a severely gravitational death and back away to peruse other things in the immediate vicinity that are clearly all kindsa fantastic.

Divinity

Divinity
During golden hour in west Cork. Driving over the mountain on Goats Path on the way back from the lighthouse on Sheeps Head. For a brief moment, a ray of light burst through the cloud.

Divinity, an intervention by something more powerful than ourselves. Today’s photo is for Sandy, my amazing girlfriend. While body boarding today at a local beach, she went to the aid of a friend who got into trouble in the water and strong currents. She was assisted by two surfers, one of which got into trouble himself on the way back to the shore. She managed to get him back to the rocks, where the four of them helped each-other back to the safety of the beach. Shaken, but most assuredly alive and well. I refuse to dwell on the thoughts of what could have happened because well, it didn’t. Well bloody done Sandy!

Sheeps Head Lighthouse

Sheeps Head Lighthouse
For the longest time (after years of visiting Sheeps Head) I never knew the funkiest little lighthouse on the planet was sitting right on the end of the headland, holding onto the cliff edge. That\’s thanks in no small part to John, who posted a fantastic image of the building that today inspired me to get off my lazy ass, leave the car park and walk to the end of the world. It also helped that is visiting for the long weekend so I\’m seeing much of the same old scenery with fresh eyes. But alas, it\’s back to work tomorrow.
