Odlums

Time for one form the home town! Easily my favorite building on the docks in Cork. Rarely seen like this, there are normally truck trailers left outside the building or a large puddle of green ooze blocking any chance of getting near it. I’d give a left something to get inside there and take a few shots.

Cork Fire Brigade

June 2003. Back when I first got my (what I would now refer to as) first proper digital camera I tried out more or less everything with limited success. It was only when I tried everything that I really started lusting after a DSLR. And so the cycle of expense and gear porn begins. Here I was, perched outside Cork’s main fire station, waiting for an emergency so I could get what I imagined would be ‘cool’ shots of theRead More

Devils in the details of the doors in Dordrecht. A deliberate decision to deliver a dinging and donging depiction. No, not the start of the silly season just yet, don’t all rush out and buy brightly coloured hats and transparent ponchos. Why brightly coloured hats and transparent ponchos? Because I can clearly see your nuts.

A nice pint (or Darren’s nice pint in this case) after the enjoyable photowalk in Dublin a few weeks back. Just love the bull & castle. All the more since discovering they serve “Rebel Red” nearly a year ago. Mmmm.

Tetris 3D

From the people who brought you Tetris, now comes a whole new way to challenge your perspectivability and cromulence. Sorry, no I lost it there at the last minute. It’s the same building, but at a different angle. Outside the city hall in Dublin.

Tetris

On Dame street, Dublin. Looking out from the city hall, across a courtyard that looks like tetris to a building that looks like tetris. At least they stuck with the theme I suppose.

Shandon

February 26, 2009 Canon 24-70, Canon 5D, Cork, Event

My first ever trip up to the top of the Shandon bells! Err, and I’ve lived in Cork for how long exactly? Don’t feel too bad though, it was Donncha’s first time up there too. We were both in awe. Deaf awe. Those bells are damn loud. Especially when there\’s a little kid mercilessly pulling on the ropes several floors down.

A stroll around the city centre after a prolonged spot of rain…

Rooftops and Mountaintops

Taken from somewhere near the top of the Sir Walter Scott Monument (which was stupidly difficult for me to get to the top of), this is.. well, Edinburgh. Posting is going to be light for the weekend. Think light like non-existent. That kind of light. I’m off up north-west to do ‘the vimto run’. This basically involved getting in the car, driving from Sligo to Enniskillen and popping into Asda for an unhealthy amount of Vimto. Mmmmmmmhmmmm!

Castle Gun

One of Edinburgh Castle’s cannon’s pointing out over the city toward the sea. I hadn’t been to Edinburgh in almost ten years so it was quite nice to get back there and re-visit a few sites. Was better to get away from work for a few short days though!
