Tour de Wicklow

February 15, 2011 iphone, Landscape, Wicklow

Buying a bike in January is exquisite torture. Mostly because with the shitty weather, you can’t actually get out and have a proper spin until mid February. It was still a bit too cold to enjoy thoroughly (a fact which I discovered to it’s fullest extent after I removed my helmet at Newcastle beach) and the dark clouds that hung over great portions of the journey appeared as if they might decant a biblical quantity of rain on me atRead More

All Things Cyclical

February 3, 2011 Cork, Dublin, iphone, Landscape, People

I can’t remember exactly the exact time it happened or any specific reason but apparently all of a sudden an iphone and two cheap applications have seen my 5D and modest yet highly functioning lens collection abandoned to a darkened corner of the spare room. I’ve never been a kind to practice street photography to any great degree so I don’t imagine that it’s out of convenience. It’s certainly not because the phone is a better camera than a nowRead More

Brightness on the Horizon

December 31, 2010 Canon 5D, Landscape, Scotland

Monsters are vanquished, beaten by a brave knight. Lots on the horizon but can’t quite make it out yet. Onward and upward? Maybe. Time and travel will tell. Happy 2011.

Cork bound

December 24, 2010 Kildare, Landscape, People

freezing my toes off on the 10am train to Cork. I wonder if the people in first class got the heating turned on for them…

Way To Work

December 12, 2010 Dublin, Film, Landscape

One of the regular views on my way to and from work. Not so much lately with the ice, snow and darker evenings though.

Right Shape

Scotland. Can I go back now please?

November Walk

November 24, 2010 Canon 5D, Cork, Event, Landscape

Sometimes you get nice days in November too. Just in time for the Cork Photowalk.

No More Bad Days

Another view on a previous location.

Almost Liberty

November 3, 2010 Canon 24-70, Canon 5D, Landscape

I’d like to get back to NYC for a few days. Maybe Boston for a few days. Just to roam and be free

Eyefulls of Soot

Head goes out the window, clickity click. Head comes back in the window with scorched eyeballs. Owidy ow. But worth it.

Eilean Donan

October 27, 2010 Landscape, Scotland

On our way out to Skye. Possibly my only shot without a tourist in it.

Airstrip

Coming back in to land at Newcastle Aerodrome. On the strip ready for take off, proprietor John Nugent’s 1948 US Army Cub.

The Lakes

October 18, 2010 Canon 5D, Event, Landscape, Wicklow

Out and about again on the helicopter thanks to John Nugent at Newcastle Aerodrome. Much brighter and clearer up there this time, as you’ll find out over the coming days…

Loch Beinn

October 13, 2010 Canon 5D, Landscape, Scotland

One fine day in Scotland.

Wicklow Head

October 10, 2010 Canon 5D, Event, Landscape, Wicklow

A view of Wicklow head I’ve never had before. A massive thanks to Mike at Wicklow.TV and John Nugent at Newcastle Aerodrome for the new slant on photowalking.

The Gap

October 7, 2010 Bronica ETRS, Kerry, Landscape

I’ve always found velvia to be an absolute bitch to scan. Trying to maintain the colours you see when you hold the film up to the light is impossible. Probably why I post very little of it and why I still have nearly a dozen rolls of it to scan. Well, either the above or I’m just lazy.

A loose grasp

A field somewhere in Holland. Not too far from Bleskensgraaf. Fuji Neopan 100 Acros or 400. Cant remember. Appears to have been developed with the last of the gone off Rodinal.

All the people, all the time

October 5, 2010 Canon 50, Canon 5D, Kerry, Landscape

Kerry, stopped to investigate. Open to correction but if I remember correctly, it’s the gap of Dunloe.

Out Back

September 30, 2010 Black and White, Dublin, Landscape

Really liking what that heathen app is producing. Mostly.

Great Things to Come

September 11, 2010 Canon 5D, Cork, Diana, Landscape

The Cork photowalk. West Cork. Sheeps head to be exact. When people say ‘go to your happy place’ this is at the top of an ever lengthening list.
