The Proving Grounds

January 30, 2012 Black and White, Dublin, Macro, People, X100

IMMA has become more or less that; A place to bring new or recently dusted off camera gear for a stroll around the grounds. No cat photos and not a focus chart in sight. Just a few from this visit before I drag and drop the set into the abyss that is the 2011 archive.

Approaching Orange

Underground in Glasgow last year. Waiting for what the locals call ‘The Clockwork Orange’. It’s orange and it goes around in a circle. Don’t ask too many questions, I didn’t. A decidedly more pleasant commuting experience when compared to the London Underground; Something I’ve become all too familiar with in the last couple of years. Back to Scotland for a few days but on the move this time. Highlands & Island(s) specifically. Nice.

Gardens of Napoli

Almost, but not quite… Photowalkers doing their thing during the June get together in west Cork. This particular stop was Garinish Island, one stop after Gougane Barra but one before the impromptu ‘it’s too early to go drinking yet’ trip to Sheeps Head. One of the best photowalks yet, if only because this time I know the area I was traipsing around. Half way there now, only 6 photowalks to go!

Day Out

Howth beach. A grand day out while the sun shines. Tides out so plenty of beach to play on. But don’t walk on those ripples of sand for too long in your bare feet or they’ll start to hurt. Or.. at least that’s my experience. Although I don’t think I ever successfully flew a kite. Deprived childhood don’t ya know.

Out for a Stroll

Strolling, just like we were, on the rocky beach next to the train tracks. Not many kids out building sandcastles today. Well, not much sand to build them in either. I’m sure you could have fashioned an impressive rock castle though. Hmm, might have to try that one out.
